Magic Kingdom Guide – 45th Anniversary

This is the Magic Kingdom guidemap from 10/1/16, the 45th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom. It has a nifty little poster in the middle of the guide. I like the logo that Disney created for the anniversary. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the 50th... Download the PDF here

The House of Magic is back on Main Street, USA!

Well...not exactly. But the facade is back. Disney has completed work on the facade of the Emporium and switched over the "Hall of Champions" facade to the "House of Magic." While the actual store hasn't returned, this is a welcome change in my book. You can see the photos over on the Blog Mickey site.

WDW Vacation Guide 1981

I used to get the WDW Vacation Guide by writing to Walt Disney World Guest Relations asking for information about the resort. This one is special because it's the edition that was produced during WDW's Tencennial. It's the year before/of the opening of EPCOT Center, so it's still just the Magic Kingdom and a few... Disney News – Winter 1979

This is the Disney News Magazine from Winter 1979. It's a fairly ordinary issue, as not much new was opening in the parks at this time. Disney was gearing up for the 25th Birthday celebration for Epcot, and there's articles on Christmas in the Parks and the Disney foxes, along with features on the parade... Continue Reading →

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Guide Map – 1995

This is the guidemap for Blizzard Beach from the opening in 1995. I think that Ice Gator was a great mascot for the park. He was everything that I love: unique to the park, original, and fun. I don't have an exact date or reason why, but it appears that Ice Gator started to get... Continue Reading →

Disney-MGM Studios – A Pictorial Souvenir – 1989

This is a souvenir book that was published in 1989, but was probably created in late 1988, as it has plenty of concept art, and only a few photos of specific attraction scenes that were completed. But, that's not all bad, as the concept art is awesome. It's a far cry from what Hollywood Studios... Continue Reading →

Vacationland – Fall 1971 – Inaugural Edition

Vacationland was a magazine published three times a year by Walt Disney World. It was distributed through hotels, motels, and tourist attractions and was targeted to the people vacationing throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana. This is the Inaugural Edition from Fall, 1971. It's interesting to see the marketing of WDW and the partnerships Disney... Continue Reading →

Vacationer's Guide to WDW – 1976

In honor of Independence Day, below are images of the Vacationer's Guide to Walt Disney World when "America on Parade" was running in honor of America's Bicentennial. I have the "America on Parade" book, and I'll be scanning it and posting it. I may post it closer to Election Day (2016). If you want to... Continue Reading →

Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show

Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show ran from May 5, 2005 and ended its run on April 2, 2016. My family only watched the show one time in 2014, and it was entertaining. I think I kinda resented LMA for the longest time because to make room for it, Residential Street was demolished, and I... Continue Reading →

Epcot Guidemap – 25th Anniversary Celebration – 10/1/07

I obtained this guidemap thanks to my good friend who attended the Epcot 25th Anniversary celebration on October 1, 2007. I had moved back to New Orleans a month earlier and was bummed that I wouldn't be there to attend the festivities. He took a day off of work to be there and to get... Continue Reading →
